Infant Holy, Infant Lowly | Hymn of the Week

Did you know the Christmas season lasts all the way until Epiphany (Jan 6)?

We love this simple, beautiful hymn that speaks of the joy of Christ’s coming and the wonder that he came as a fragile, lowly, human baby, just for us!

Lyrics

Verse 1
Infant holy, infant lowly,
for his bed a cattle stall;
oxen lowing, little knowing
Christ the babe is Lord of all.
Swiftly winging angels singing,
bells are ringing, tidings bringing:
Christ the child is Lord of all!
Christ the child is Lord of all!

Verse 2
Flocks were sleeping, shepherds keeping
vigil till the morning new
saw the glory, heard the story,
tidings of a gospel true.
Thus rejoicing, free from sorrow,
praises voicing, greet the morrow:
Christ the child was born for you!
Christ the child was born for you!
